The AquaIllumination Hydra Edge combines EdgeField™ Optics’ wide-angle output for balanced PAR and maximum coverage with a Solar Ring that delivers breathtaking shimmer. With the all-new Solar Blue spectrum, it builds on decades of coral-lighting expertise to deliver vibrant colour and exceptional growth in your aquarium.
Designed to cover up to 76 × 76 cm when mounted 23 cm above the water surface, the Hydra Edge provides broad illumination for reef tanks. Aquariums with high light-demanding corals may require multiple fixtures or a smaller coverage area to ensure optimal PAR.
The Hydra Edge’s ultra-sleek design is as discreet above your aquarium as its light is stunning below. It’s effortless to mount, easy to clean, simple to use, and whisper-quiet thanks to its advanced fan and custom heat-sink design—seamlessly blending into your setup.

EdgeField™ Optics
EdgeField™ optics deliver even PAR, seamless colour mixing, and exceptional spread. With a 100° beam, they ensure optimal mixing throughout the aquarium. The specular exit surface produces a clean, natural shimmer to elevate your display.
Solar Blue Spectrum
The Hydra Edge introduces the carefully crafted all-channel output: Solar Blue. Built on full-spectrum fundamentals to closely match natural underwater conditions, it enhances channel control for a versatile range designed to highlight your corals’ natural beauty.
Achieving Solar Blue is effortless—set all channels to the same intensity to closely emulate natural lighting conditions.
Solar Ring
The Solar Ring redefines aquatic lighting with dynamic shimmer that brings your aquarium to life. A dedicated array of white and warm-white LEDs at the centre of the cluster maximises shimmer, caustics, and visual depth. Strategic placement and optic geometry power the advanced Caustic Engine for mesmerising shine.
HyperDrive Efficiency
HyperDrive technology redistributes unused power from one channel to another so every watt is used effectively. Fine-tune your spectrum with precision while maintaining consistent performance across channels.
Dedicated Moonlight
A dedicated moonlight channel simulates natural lunar colour and intensity so you can enjoy nocturnal behaviour without disrupting your inhabitants.
Simple Built-in Control
All AI devices include smart control as standard. Use the Mobius or MyAI app on iOS/Android to set up and program your equipment. The Hydra Edge is also compatible with the Neptune Systems MXM module for Apex Fusion control.
Available Mounting Options
The Hydra Edge’s advanced mounting system lets you tilt and aim light exactly where it’s needed—improving coverage, reducing spill, and minimising glare. Mounts sold separately.
