Using the proven TUNZE® Flash Skimming Principle, the Comline DOC Skimmer efficiently removes organic waste by drawing aquarium water through a powerful surface suction system.
Designed for quiet operation and high performance, this compact internal skimmer produces a large volume of fine air bubbles, maximising contact with dissolved organic compounds for effective protein removal. The skimmer operates as a complete stand-alone unit and requires no additional feed pumps or external equipment.
At the core of the system is the TUNZE® Foamer, which generates extremely fine air bubbles (approximately 0.1–0.3 mm in diameter). Organic pollutants such as proteins, dead cells, and other waste particles immediately adhere to the bubble surfaces. These bubbles rise into the skimmer cup reactor, where cleaned water returns to the aquarium and waste-rich foam is collected for removal.
An integrated, patented anti-overfoaming intermediate chamber automatically stabilises performance and prevents excessive foaming, adjusting output based on water level and organic load. Unlike traditional large skimmers that rely on long contact times, Flash Skimming ensures absorbed waste is not released back into the aquarium water.
