The Continuum Advantage

Bacter Clean•M is a unique marine microbial culture and enzyme product specifically designed to clean surfaces such as live rock, coral decorations, and tank walls. It removes stains, loosens and softens debris for easy vacuuming, and provides a cleaner, more pristine environment.

This product outcompetes unwanted substances and loosens the grip of unsightly accumulations, making them easier to remove by scraping or vacuuming. Its exclusive bacterial formula helps you maintain a beautiful reef or marine aquarium with less manual effort. It also rapidly breaks down organic waste, leftover food, debris, and detritus, improving overall water quality.

Use in Aquarium Keeping

Continuum recommends filtering tap makeup water using reverse osmosis, distillation, or deionization, along with carbon pre-filtration, to avoid introducing phosphates and silicates into the aquarium. A phosphate level of less than 0.02 mg/L (ppm) is ideal.

If your aquarium has high phosphate or silicate levels, consider using Captiv•Phos W, Captiv•Phos Fe, or liquid Phos•Correx before or during use of this product. Additionally, the use of natural grazers like nerite snails, turbo snails, and emerald crabs is recommended.

Although not required, it is beneficial to first use Redox Plus to lower the organic load and increase the ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential), waiting two hours before introducing Bacter Clean•M.

For best results, consider using Reef Micro•Fuel as a carbon source to enhance bacterial effectiveness. Bacter Clean•M can be used alongside BacterGen•M and BacterGen•MD. When used together, reduce the dosage of the other bacterial products by half and use them on alternating days.

Directions and Protocol

1. Place 1 cup (250 ml) of marine aquarium water into a container.
2. Shake the bottle well before use.
3. Add the recommended amount (see below) of capfuls or ml of Bacter Clean•M to the container.
4. Stir and let stand for a few minutes.
5. Add the mixture to your aquarium in the desired location.

Note: If using with BacterGen•M or BacterGen•MD, pause their use during the initial 2 weeks, then resume with half dosage on alternate days.

Recommended Amounts

• Initial Cleaning: Add 6 capfuls (30 ml) on the first day. Then, add 1 capful (5 ml) per 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume daily for 2 weeks or until goals are achieved.
• Perform a 10–20% water change after every 2 weeks of high-dosage use, vacuuming debris and buildup from live rock and decorations.
• Daily use may be continued as long as desired.
• Maintenance Dosage: Add 4 capfuls (20 ml) per 25 US gallons (100 L) weekly, or 3 ml per day.
